1N4001 is an MDD general-purpose rectifier diode used in power rectification, reverse-polarity protection, and inductive-load paths. Its axial through-hole format is convenient where a leaded component or straightforward hand assembly is preferred. The KiCad download provides a 2-pin diode symbol, the DO-41_BD2.4-L4.7-P8.70-D0.9-RD footprint with two pads, and an included 3D model for board-clearance inspection. Five ProtoFlow engineers have used this conversion in real designs, verifying the imported diode mapping through practical use. The verified 1N4001 symbol, footprint, and model can be opened directly in ProtoFlow.
