The axial, through-hole format of MDD's 1N4004 suits leaded rectifier assemblies and general-purpose power circuitry. As a member of the 1N400x rectifier family, it provides a one-way current path for applications such as power-supply rectification and reverse-polarity protection. A 3D model accompanies the free KiCad files, allowing the diode body and lead arrangement to be viewed in the board assembly. The download also contains a 2-pin diode symbol and the 2-pad DO-41_BD2.4-L4.7-P8.70-D0.9-FD footprint. The converted library has been used in real designs by 2 ProtoFlow engineers.
