Adjustable supply rails are a common application for the onsemi KA317TU, a three-terminal linear voltage regulator. Its adjustable output makes it useful where a fixed regulator does not suit the required rail, while the through-hole TO-220-3 package calls for attention to physical clearance and thermal layout.
