by MPS(芯源)The MP1584EN-LF-P from MPS is a buck regulator IC used to step a DC supply down for board-level power rails. Its exposed-pad SOIC-8 package makes the underside pad part of the PCB layout, in addition to the package leads. The downloadable KiCad library is free and includes a nine-pin symbol, the nine-pad SOIC-8_L4.9-W3.9-P1.27-LS6.0-TL-EP-1 footprint, and an accompanying 3D model. Those files provide the schematic and placement representations needed to incorporate the regulator into a power-supply design. This conversion has been used in real designs by 2 ProtoFlow engineers. It can also be opened directly in ProtoFlow for schematic and PCB work.
