A resettable protection element can help a circuit recover from a temporary overload without replacing a conventional fuse. Littelfuse MINISMDC020F-2 is a surface-mount polymer PTC device for that role, placed in series with the circuit being protected. Its resistance rises as fault heating develops, then falls again as the device cools under suitable conditions.
