Infineon's IRF540NPBF is an N-channel power MOSFET used as a controlled switch in power circuits, including load switching and motor-drive stages. The through-hole TO-220-3 package makes lead placement and surrounding mechanical clearance relevant when laying out the board. Gate-drive requirements and thermal design still need to be checked against the intended circuit. Available KiCad files include a three-pin symbol, the three-pad TO-220-3_L10.0-W4.5-P2.54-L footprint and a 3D model.
