For a board that needs a visible indicator, KENTO's 5AR3UD12 is a through-hole LED. It uses two electrical connections and a leaded footprint, so its placement differs from a surface-mount indicator. The free KiCad download pairs a two-pin symbol with the two-pad LED-TH_BD5.8-P2.54-FD footprint and includes a 3D model for board inspection. The footprint name identifies the body and lead layout used by this conversion; check that layout against the intended assembly. This conversion has been used by 1 ProtoFlow engineer in a real design. The part can be opened directly in ProtoFlow.
