For simple RC oscillators and switch-signal cleanup, the TI CD40106BE provides CMOS Schmitt-trigger inversion. Hysteresis gives the input separate switching thresholds as a signal rises and falls, making this family useful when an ordinary inverter would see an uncertain transition. This entry uses a through-hole DIP-14 package. Its conversion is backed by use in real designs by 2 ProtoFlow engineers.
