I2C communication across an isolation boundary is the role of TI's ISO1540DR. This digital isolator is useful where an I2C-connected device needs electrical separation from the controller side, such as isolated measurement or interface circuitry. Its bidirectional I2C isolation function distinguishes it from a general-purpose logic buffer. The download packages an eight-pin KiCad symbol with the eight-pad SOIC-8_L4.9-W3.9-P1.27-LS6.0-BL footprint and an included 3D model. All three assets are freely downloadable for schematic capture and PCB layout. The conversion has been used by 1 ProtoFlow engineer in real designs.
