SM712.TCT
by SEMTECH
Protecting an RS-485 interface from transient events is the role of Semtech's SM712.TCT. This TVS diode array is commonly placed on communication lines to divert transient energy away from the transceiver; it serves a protection function alongside the interface circuitry. The supplied SOT-23-3 surface-mount layout provides three pads. Its free KiCad files include a three-pin symbol, the footprint named SOT-23-3_L3.0-W1.7-P0.95-LS2.9-BR, and a 3D model. A real ProtoFlow import supplied the files, which were converted and checked in the editor. The complete part can be opened directly in ProtoFlow for placement in the protection circuit.
