MQ-2
by Winsen(炜盛)
The MQ-2 from Winsen is a heated semiconductor gas sensor used in combustible-gas and smoke-sensing circuits. Its sensing resistance changes with exposure, so a design needs circuitry to read that response as well as connections for the heater. This record covers the six-terminal through-hole sensor itself. Used by 2 ProtoFlow engineers in real designs, the conversion is available as a free KiCad download containing a six-pin symbol, the six-pad SENSOR-TH_MQ-2 footprint and a 3D model. The model helps review the sensor's position within the board assembly. The MQ-2 library part can also be opened directly in ProtoFlow.
