Magnetic field measurement is the role of MEMSIC's MMC5983MA, a magnetometer used in electronic compass and orientation-sensing applications. Placement matters in these designs because nearby magnetic materials and current paths can affect the field being measured. This surface-mount part is represented by a 16-pin schematic symbol and the LGA-16_L3.0-W3.0-P0.50-BL_SQ footprint with 16 pads.
