Threshold detection and analog level monitoring are common uses for the LM393 dual comparator. This PUOLOP version is supplied in a surface-mount SOP-8 package. The family uses open-collector outputs, allowing the output pull-up arrangement to be chosen for the receiving circuit. That behavior is useful when turning an analog comparison into a logic indication.
