It converts a higher input supply into a lower rail, working with external components such as an inductor and capacitors. The regulator comes in a TSOT-23-6 surface-mount package. Included in the free verified KiCad files are a 6-pin symbol, the TSOT-23-6_L2.9-W1.6-P0.95-LS2.8-BL footprint with 6 pads, and a 3D model for viewing the package on the board.
